2 A.M. Ramblings

Thanks Santa!
I can't believe it has been over a month since I have updated my blog! I am a total slacker. Well not really but I have been a busy bee. December was full of everything Christmas. I seriously do not know how I managed to get all of that business done when I worked. Shopping, gift wrapping, decorating, baking, cleaning, hosting family gatherings.... I always got it done before but the difference was that I loathed every single minute of it then. It stressed me out trying to get it all done on top of my already hectic life.

This year it was wonderful! I truly enjoyed all of it, especially the joy and excitement in my babies faces during each and every part of the holiday. It was no longer an obligation. It was FUN! With that said, on December 26th I was totally over it and taking down the tree and decorations. I was ready to bring on the new year and get back on track. What that track is exactly I am still trying to figure out.

Getting rid of all of the remaining Chrismas cookies was the first step. I don't know how many of the delicious little bastards I ate but if I measure by how tight my pants seemed to get all of a sudden I would say way too freaking many! Damn it! I am in a wedding in May where I will be photographed in a lovely strapless dress a hundred times. And we have season passes to Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun for the summer which means I will have to be in a swimsuit far more often than the once a year 2 day trip to the lake I have to endure where I drink enough to help forget how much I hate wearing a swimsuit! I have been doing great this week and have been using my elliptical every day. I think it was in shock as much as my body was as it has been being used as a very large decoration in my living room for almost a year.

Well it is 2:30 am and I am still up on this damn iPad that was gifted to me for Christmas by my wonderful husband. I cannot put it down. It is like crack! I can blame my new addiction to Words With Friends for that, and Facebook and Pinterest and Waffies and emails from stores that lead me to online shopping! I think I might need an intervention.

I am excited for the new year and am cautiously optimistic about what 2012 is going to bring for me and my family. For now I am just going to enjoy                                                                life and pray for that winning lotto ticket!
